The two senior directors of SSI were both privileged enough to serve, separately, as the Officer in Command of the Army’s Anti Terrorist Survey Team, which was set up as a direct result of the IRA’s attacks on the UK mainland at the height of the troubles. The ATST was tasked with conducting external covert audits on senior ranking military officers and politicians who may have become targets as a direct result of their involvement with Northern Ireland politics. The aim of these surveys was designed to accurately identify any vulnerabilities that could potentially be exploited by the terrorists because of the Principal’s lifestyle and daily routine.
SSI now offers this type of external audit to clients (Risk Profile Survey) which are designed to accurately assess vulnerable areas and risks to individuals, companies / installations or routines considered to be under threat from terrorists, extremists, activists, stalkers, organized criminals or even the paparazzi. These surveys are conducted as an external audit, with no access to privileged information, therefore the operators on the ground are subjected to exactly the same risk of compromise as any would be aggressor. By conducting the survey adopting this methodology, we provide a very realistic appraisal of the true state of security at any given site or facility. An integral part of these surveys are recommendations of appropriate and cost effective counter measures.
We also conduct Penetration Testing for a number of UHNW individuals, Government organisations and Corporate clients. Penetration testing is the pre-planned and agreed infiltration and simulated attack, targeted against secure locations or individuals. The Tests are conducted in order to highlight existing weaknesses that exist within current security protocols and existing emergency control procedures. We test the integrity of staff and associated contractors and analyse the security risks to key individuals. Our Penetration Tests examine the following:
• Access Control
• Employee integrity
• Routine & lifestyle patterns of key personnel
• Integrity of business information
• Integrity of personal information
• Board rooms
• Security guards and front of house personnel
